What is the name of your race?
Need a better name than Riders and a place they come from
What was your people's role in the old Empire?
No idea but the Contessa had voting rights in the Empire.
What is your people's diet?
Fruit, vegetables and grain. They also eat dairy products and eggs but not meat or fish.
How much was your race involved int trade before, and what was its greatest industry?
They live in woodlands so probably timber and hunting meat
Also there are approx 300 Riders surviving and they have 4-5 tribes at present.
Stuff I still need to address:

Greatest weakness is that they grow vulnerable if forced to spend time away from their Tigris (the weakness starts if they are separated for 24 hours). If a Tigris dies/is killed and the rider survives, the trauma causes him/her to fall into a depression that can only be healed by a new bond with a Tigris cub or a rogue adult Tigris.

Race name - Diarda
They inhabited the Pantigra Forest before the Empire fell. They are still called Riders but that is their lifestyle choice.
Legends:
I will write something about each of the surviving tribes at some point and maybe something about the extinct tribes.

Updated Racial Sheet
Race Name: Diarda of the Pantigra Forest, also known as the Tigris Riders
Current leader: Contessa Selene Tigerheart
Population on Ashen Isle: 300
Powers: The Diarda have a strong racial bond with the great cats known as Tigris, who they bond with in childhood. Riders are skilled in the use of elemental magic, with Earth Magic being the strongest. Their magic is powered with the aid of nature spirits, who they believe are the daughters of Malaya. The Diarda call the spirits to aid them. The spirit they call is dependent upon their location. Younger or less experienced Diarda of course take longer to summon the spirits and some have little talent. The spirits can be used for beneficial magic such as helping crops grow, or starting fires, with increasing levels of difficulty depending upon the task. Adult Diarda can command the trees to trip an aggressor with their roots or trap them in their branches, or make the waters rise. The more skilled Diarda can cause a flood, hurricane or earthquake, but they revere nature too much to purposely cause a forest fire..
Appearance:
The Diarda are an elven race, tall and lithe. They are humanoid in appearance but have exceptionally slender slender proportions, pointed ears and long limbs. Their chins and noses are typically pointed. Female Riders typically have smaller breasts than their human counterparts, giving them a less curvy figure. Their skin tone is typically various shades of green, preventing them from passing as humans. Their hair too is typically jewel shades of green and their eyes are golden. Riders have no body hair and no facial hair. Diardan riders typically wear tight trousers and shirts when mounted though their women sometimes wear loose, split skirts over their breeches and sometimes dresses. They are capable of breeding with other races but the offspring will bear a partial resemblance to the Diarda
Organisation:
The Diarda have lived in clans for centuries, each ruled by a matriarch. The overall leader of the Diarda is the Contessa, herself a clan leader. This office is hereditary but the clan chiefs can vote for a change in leadership if they wish. Only 3 clans survived the cataclysm; Fireheart (Contessa's clan), Blackthorn and Bluefang.
Reputation:
The Diarda are often viewed with suspicion and sometimes hatred, due to their alien appearance and insular nature, as well as their treatment of outsiders or Diarda who engage in interracial relationships. Riders who form a pair bond with another race and/or have an Impure child are exiled from their clan and forced to live in the outside world, where their descendants have led to troubling reports of the Diarda. The Tigris are commonly feared due to legends of a maddened Tigris who feasted on the flesh of humans after his Rider was exiled from the clan, breaking the bond between the two.
Role in the old Empire?
They were absorbed into the Empire early on, after a bitter war in which three Contessas were killed, until the fourth finally saw the sense in submission. At first there was much resentment but soon the Diarda learned that the Empire would leave them alone as long as they caused no trouble. Two hundred years after they were absorbed into the Empire, the Diarda were required to send a corps of Riders to serve in the Empire's wars. This became a permanent tradition, with the young people competing fiercely for the chance to serve. A few hundred years later, the Contessa of the time was given the right to vote in the Assembly. Traditionally, Diarda didn't practice slavery, but as time passed some of the clans began to sell militant intruders, rapists and thieves into slavery rather than execute them. The Riders don't actually buy slaves or keep them in their own kingdom. For them, slavery is a fate worse than death, so a Rider who commits the most heinous crimes i.e. murder of another Rider or of a rider's Tigris may be sentenced to slavery, depending on the preference of the clan chief.
Diet:
Fruit, vegetables and grain. They also eat dairy products and eggs but not meat or fish
Legends:
The greatest hero is Zarina, a daughter of the Redstripe Clan who saved the life of the Contessa Esmerelda five hundred years ago, during a civil war between the tribes (details to be added later). In gratitude, Zarina was made one of the Contessa's personal guards, a role typically held by male Riders, and later granted the rights to start her own clan. Zarina chose the name Tigerheart. Each clan had their own heroes, both female and male. Former clan chiefs and Contessas are much revered.
Religion:
They worship the great goddess Malaya, said to be the mother of all Tigris, who takes the form of a white tiger with silver stripes. They have no strong feelings about the Imperial religion.
Trade and Industry:
They are fairly self-sufficient but did trade in meat and timber and the more martially minded clan chiefs would sometimes commit their warriors to serve as mercenaries
Weaknesses:
Their greatest weakness is that they grow vulnerable if forced to spend time away from their Tigris (the weakness starts if they are separated for 24 hours). If a Tigris dies/is killed and the rider survives, the trauma causes him/her to fall into a depression that can only be healed by a new bond with a Tigris cub or a rogue adult Tigris.

+10 agility +10 wisdom -5 charisma -10 constitution.
