Name: The Riders of Tigris (I should probably give them a cooler name than Riders though!)
Appearance: The Riders are an elven race, tall and lithe. They are humanoid in appearance but have exceptionally slender slender proportions, pointed ears and long limbs. Their chins and noses are typically pointed. Female Riders typically have smaller breasts than their human counterparts, giving them a less curvy figure. Their skin tone is typically various shades of green, preventing them from passing as humans. Their hair too is typically jewel shades of green and their eyes are golden. Riders have no body hair and no facial hair. Riders typically wear tight trousers and shirts when mounted though their women sometimes wear loose, split skirts over their breeches and sometimes dresses.
Riders can breed with humans and other similar races though such liaisons are strongly discouraged Half-breeds of Rider descent, called the Impure, inherit the skin tones of their non-Rider parent, but may inherit the golden eyes and green hair.
Numbers: Hundreds. They live in matriarchal family clans ruled by a leader called the Contessa. The leader of all Riders, who leads the most powerful clan, is called the Contessa.
Powers: The Riders are skilled in the use of elemental magic, with a natural affinity for Earth magic. They also have a strong bond with animals, which is the root cause of their long bond with the Tigris, a breed of huge cats which resemble tigers, leopards etc (some with outlandishly coloured fur). The Riders' bonds with the Tigris give them a distinct advantage in combat. They favour swords, spears and bows. Undecided if magic and weapon skills are gender based or neutral.
Role: To be decided
Reputation: Regarded as mysterious, often with suspicion and sometimes hatred, due to their alien appearance and insular nature. Riders who form a pair bond with another race and/or have an Impure child are exiled from their clan
and forced to live in the outside world, where their descendants have led to troubling reports of the Riders. The Tigris are commonly feared due to legends of a maddened Tigris who feasted on the flesh of humans after his Rider was exiled from the clan, breaking the bond between the two.
Diet: Riders are herbivores due to their affinity with animals and the earth, but their cats are carnivores.
